response

I held you like a lover,
Starved kisses
your fingers in the appropriate place
And I ignored propriety’s plans
For that smile on your face
my body and heart opened up
confusing your defenses
with no room for you to foresee outcomes
in places where only I seem to remember what we have done

Do you find
Your thoughts intertwined with her?
Is she soft enough,
To catch you when you fall?
Do you wash your hands before you touch?
Do you miss my skin?
Is she strong enough,
to let you know you’re wrong?
does she drive you mad?
or just barely upsets?
what about me?

You held me like a lover
Trembling hands
And my lips in the appropriate place
We drew curtains to keep the world out
So we could enjoy the private pleasures of our embraces
While our sweaty bodies disregarded
unconventional hours and unlocked doors
as we moved to the rhythm of our heavy breaths

I know i break the calm,
The strict orderliness of your life
But do your rules make sense without me?
If so be free
If not stop running from me
Before one of us has
unintentional regrets
for you are...
